A Colourful Breakfast at Arrows & Sparrows

Arrows & Sparrows

Being flooded with tempting food shots on Instagram for a while now, we decided to check out Arrows & Sparrows for a late breakfast on a lazy weekend morning.

This small cozy place has a lively personality from the moment you walk in. The hanging garden lights, small plants around the cafe, simple decor and colours that pop out, is exactly the vibe that reflects in their food.

We ordered Miss Benedict and Colorful French Toast to go with a coffee and a Strawberry Monster Shake (because, why not?). Even though they are the usual sober picks for a weekend breakfast, Arrows & Sparrows obviously sprinkled their magic dust to these classics.

Miss Benedict is a colourful and flavouful dish with a hint of their unconventional touch to my favourite, Eggs Benedict. The eye-popping beetroot Hollandaise and the tomato herb mixture really add a kick to the flavours on the plate. The crunchy asparagus and kale bring a hint of healthy with the soft poached eggs.

The Colorful French Toast is a visual treat which reminds me of Willy Wonka and Unicorns. This dish surprised me as it was not overwhelmingly sweet despite the candy floss, banana meringues and not to forget the Dulce de Leche sauce sandwiched between the French toast. The passion fruit mousse, fresh berries and a hint of cinnamon kept it well balanced.

Overall, it was a very well satisfied lazy brekkie which has lived up to its social media fame. I will be back to try out the rest of the menu.
