The Hamptons Cafe, Dubai
This city spoils you for choice with many late breakfasts or lazy lunch places. On this semi sunny weekend afternoon, The Hamptons Cafe on Umm Suqeim caught my attention with a hidden agenda of a beach stroll later.
The three-storied cozy cafe is filled with nautical motifs and white furniture. Peeking for a preferred table and slowly making the way through each level, the top floor was the best for its French windows letting the Dubai skyline peep through. There is also an outside terrace with sea views and breeze to accompany you, however would be packed if you are looking for a lazy start to the day.
Starting off with an aromatic Americano, I am now game to check out the rest of the menu. Your coffee is served with a perfectly crispy and fluffy centered macaroon – mine was a simple beauty called vanilla.
The breakfast menu can be tagged as splendid, and I can only image how the rest of the menu would be. It took every Little Hungry Ninja nerve to not order the absolutely magnificent Long Island Big Breakfast which serves 4 people or my personal favourite – Eggs Benedict. We went ahead to try other new flavour such as The Hamptons Tostada and Egg and Cheese in Tomato Basil Sauce – these were two very opposite palate pleasers.
The Tostada was a great kickstarter to the meal with eggs sandwiching between complex flavours of beans and salsa. The homemade mix of beans and sausage were sitting well with the medium-done eggs and topped with fresh tomato salsa. The avocado is always a special touch to every dish to add a little extra creamy texture.
Eggs and Cheese with tomato sauce was a home runner. The homemade tomato sauce had the perfect balance of basil hinting it away from being too simple. This dish arrives with one of the best Focaccia breads I ever had, and it is as well baked in-house. Eggs done your way, cheese, tomato and basil flavours and bread – what else can be called a hearty breakfast?
With many items on the menu being made fresh, the taste of each dish is definitely a testimonial on why The Hamptons Cafe is always busy. I cannot wait to be back with more friends to try the Long Island Big Breakfast and other tempting dishes.
